Sidewalk scenes

("click" to enlarge photo.)

A lot can happen when you walk to see a parade -
finding a broken Robin's egg, cooling off with an Icee,
getting licked by a pony,
collecting candy from the parade people like it's Halloween,
stopping to play on a church playground.

I love the simple pleasures of a leisurely stroll.

I'm still here - just buried under a lot of work. And not the kind that I really want to be doing but it's ok. It would be more enjoyable if I were feeling better I think. For the past few days I haven't wanted to get off the couch. I had to will myself through a couple of work events. I felt like it was a thousand degrees and my legs were made of rubber but I plastered a smile on my face and made it through. I hate complaining and here I am...
But I'm taking the morning to try to get better before Blair's Mothers day Tea at school this afternoon. That will be fun!

The work that I have really been enjoying has been covering some fun events, like this bridal shower...

Cute details

Gorgeous sisters (bride on the right)
Even the food was cute
And some Senior pictures...
The kids always want a good train track pic. There are so many done so I had to switch it up and make it a little different.

Natural beauty
This girl was so much fun but told me she was nervous about what to do, how to pose, etc. I went over a few tips about how to get a relaxed look in her face and by the end I could see her going through the steps and it became natural to her. When I showed her a few shots in my camera frame, her eyes lit up. "That's me??"

Jr. Prom
While there's something inherently sweet about those awkwardly posed prom photos, I kinda like the semi-candid look. The mothers of these two students wanted something new.

And while I was there I saw some friends taking pictures of their daughter. They said they were just talking about how they should've called and here I was! So of course, I would help out a friend and their daughter is one of my favorite people.

Now I'm off to get ready for the Kindergarten Mother's Day tea party!
Have a good day.

I'm thankful for...

Freecycle.

Jon and I spent the 1000 degree early afternoon of Memorial Day, standing in waist high grass, dismantling a swing set. It was courtesy of a Freecycler. It was more like he dismantled and I was the assistant. "Wrench...wrench. Scalpel...scalpel." sort of thing. I just happened to see the ad come across my e-mail and snatched it up. With a little TLC and a can (or two) of spray paint, it'll be all freshened up.

Shade trees.

I love them.
"A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they will never sit." (Greek proverb as quoted by Gordon B. Hinckley)

My husband's job.

He is giving away Hersheypark (the amusement park) tickets if you "like" them and the giveaway post on their Facebook page.

I'm excluded - what a bummer. But you're not! Go check them out.

You would think I'd get some perks...

People who let me follow them around and take pictures like the Paparazzi.

I love it.

Have a good day!

Inspiring me

I'm incorporating a little something from each of these into my day.

It's fun to be inspired.

Packed but playful

I love Saturdays.

A day in review:

Charley and I went to a friend's swap where we scored a bunch of great stuff, including a few pairs of shoes. Love the plum.

On to the coffee shop for a little more time together before taking her to audition for "Footloose" and writing her note for the bulletin board.

The saying is from the tv show, "How I met your Mother."

Then Jon and I went to a birthday party with Reese where we watched them try Dance Dance Revolution.

And in-between it all we headed into the city to take some fun photos of a beautiful family.

And today I am working in the house
since I willingly neglected all of those duties for the past two days.

How was your weekend?

Looking up at cloud formations

is one of the simple pleasures in life.

Enjoy your Wednesday!

Recently I did a photo shoot for Belen and
4 of her best friends.

We took about a hundred shots and they seemed to enjoy
documenting their friendship through pictures.

I enjoyed seeing them be themselves, laugh and be
genuinely happy for the other.
After all, that is what friendship is all about.

And when you find a good one
it can make you jump for joy.
